STEM in UGANDA STEM is an acronym for the fields of science, Technology, engineering and mathematics. Many countries have evolved economically, politically and socially because of their ground investment in STEM activities to children and the youth. Its commonly noted that stem fields have historically been dominated by men, although women have increased their representation in the past and recent years but there is still less participation in those fields, there are a lot of reasons among the young generation: peer pressure and lack of self-esteem, limited career guidance, stereotypes that women aren’t good at STEM, organizational barriers that make it hard for young women to improve. Girls should be strong and have the desire to improve the world. This will help point them in the right successful career direction. The Drum Machine/ Metronome

A metronome is a device or tool that produces an audible beat, a click at a regular intervals that the user can set in Beats per minute (BPM) On 11th February the Young Engineers pioneer class learnt about the Drum machine and later on the 21st February conducted at Heritage –Young Engineers Club. At the start of the lesson the students where asked if they love music and mention some of their favorite musical instruments which include drums, guitar but most of them loved playing the piano. Here the instructor introduced the lesson of the day (The drum Machine/ Metronome) and the students were able to explain its operation and features to others and fully explained by the instructor respectively.
